Portland International Airport Launches Second Phase of Renovations

Renovations continue at Portland International Airport (PDX). The Port of Portland opened the new main terminal last year, but the last 30% of renovations are still underway, part of a larger $2.15 billion renovation project to enable the airport to welcome 35 million passengers per year by 2045.

This last phase of the project is focused on making the airport easier to get around. The project includes designs by Portland-based architecture and design firm Ankrom Moisan and ZGF, and the expansion is PDX’s most aggressive expansion to date—doubling the capacity of the airport.

100% of the 3.5 million board feet of wood for the roof—as well as wood concessions, flooring, and feature walls—was sourced from within a 300-mile radius and includes material from small family-owned forests, nonprofits, and tribal nations.
