Portland Green Lights Nearly 600K SF of Lloyd District Development
San Diego-based American Assets Trust received unanimous approval from the Portland Design Commission on two planned midrise buildings that could include up to 593,000 square feet of office space. The twin buildings are envisioned for a site in the southern part of the Lloyd District’s Oregon Square superblock.
The buildings could range in height from five to nine stories and would sit atop a shared 246-stall subterranean parking garage. The buildings’ design features largely steel and glass, with honed white aggregate concrete panels. GBD Architects’ design goals were to create large, efficient and flexible floor plates.
American Assets Trust’s Lloyd District Portfolio is comprised of six office buildings on more than 16 acres within 14 contiguous blocks. They include a condominium interest in the 20-story Lloyd Center Tower, the 16-story Lloyd 700 Building and four low-rise landmark buildings within Oregon Square.
