Port San Antonio To Be Site of New Multi-Story Tower

What used to be the site of Kelly Air Force Base, is now moving full-speed ahead into a high-tech, innovation station. Port San Antonio (Port SA) has recently advanced plans for a vertiport to host passenger and cargo electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles, a research complex that will include a simulated lunar terrain lab and a modern multi-story office building.

It’s the last item that seems to be the one that will kick off first at Port San Antonio. Plans call for an ultra-modern 300,000 square foot office building to become the home of the DeLorean Motor Company. The new car will not be the gull-winged version made famous in the Back to the Future movies, but an electric vehicle called the Alpha5. Government economic incentive packages of over $1 million have been made available if the company hires 450 people. The car will be built at third party plants elsewhere. Port SA expects the office building to be complete by 2025.
