Port San Antonio CEO Resigns Under Board Pressure
Port San Antonio CEO Roland Mower resigned his position under pressure from the organization’s board of directors. The board had issues with Mower’s leadership style, and also indicated he wasn’t visible enough in the community when it came to promoting the San Antonio-based manufacturing and cybersecurity hub.
Mower’s resignation will take effect Dec. 31, 2018, if approved by the board. During his tenure, he helped oversee construction of a new, 90,000-square-foot office building geared toward cyber security companies. The facility is the first part of Project Tech, a planned office development that could total more than a half-million square feet upon buildout.
The 1,900-acre Port San Antonio is on the site of the former Kelly Air Force Base, and is currently home to facilities for Boeing Co., Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin.
