The Martinezes, who live in Port Isabel, are interested in restoring it, but have not yet determined specific plans.
The two-story Spanish Colonial Renaissance building, situated on 1.2 acres at 700 N. Yturria St., had many famous guests in its time, including President Warren G. Harding, Al Capone and Amelia Earhart. The city had attempted to renovate the 15-room property into offices and for educational uses.
