PNC Bank Extends Lease at PNC Centre

PNC Bank has signed a long-term lease extension for its downtown Chicago office, pivoting from reported plans to move to Wacker Drive.

In addition to the extension, upgrades will begin this year on the PNC Centre in Chicago’s Central Business District at One North Franklin, where the Pittsburgh-based financial services firm has been located since 2008. The 617,000-square-foot property is managed by MetLife Investment Management, reported the Chicago Business Journal.

“This is PNC’s third major investment in the space since PNC received naming rights for the PNC Centre in 2011,” said Scott Swanson, PNC regional president for Illinois and Midwest territory executive, in a statement.

Capital improvements will include the installation of fresh, bold designs to highlight PNC’s brand image and a full-floor, building-wide amenity space will be created on the 36th floor. EWP Architects is the design firm for the project and the renovations are slated to be completed in 2025.
