Plymouth, Bellwether Break Ground on $151M Seattle Tower
Plymouth Housing and Bellwether Housing launched construction on Rise on Madison, a 17-story, $150.7-million affordable housing project on Seattle’s First Hill. The developers say the nearly 370-unit project is the first affordable housing high-rise in Seattle in more than 50 years.
Plymouth Housing will operate 115 studio homes for formerly homeless seniors with on-site supportive services on floors one through six. Bellwether Housing plans to operate 253 affordable studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences on floors seven through 16.
Sound Transit approved a free transfer of the land at 1400 Madison St. to Plymouth and Bellwether for the project. It will feature vibrant ground floor retail along Madison Street, a large community room and roof deck. The tower is expected to deliver in spring 2022.
