Plug and Play to Open AI Center of Excellence in Seattle
Plug and Play is opening an AI Center of Excellence in Seattle, alongside the launch of the $40 million SBI US Gateway Fund, a Co-GP fund focused on early-stage startup investments.
The Silicon Valley-based platform is set to host a launch event for one of two Seattle–area AI center locations it is opening. The first center will be the CoMotion Labs technology incubator on the University of Washington’s Seattle campus in a collaboration between Plug and Play, SBI Holdings, SNBL, and UW CoMotion.
The other will be north of Seattle in Everett, at a property housed by SNBL, a Japanese research company that focuses on drug development and medical technology. Plug and Play’s AI Centers of Excellence are designed to transform regions into recognized AI leaders by establishing strategic hubs that connect local innovation with global opportunities.
“The Pacific Northwest is home to a dynamic and rapidly growing tech ecosystem, and we are excited to contribute to this community by supporting the next generation of innovative companies,” said Saeed Amidi, founder and CEO at Plug and Play.
