Plans Underway for Spirit of Texas Plaza Expansion
Leaders of Spirit of Texas Bank in Conroe, TX are focused on the next phase of a $100-million development dubbed Spirit of Texas Plaza. Specifically, the company, in partnership with Hawes Hill Calderon LLP, is focused on developing the 1,800-seat Yellow Rose Theatre and a full-service hotel and convention center.
The Spirit of Texas Plaza, on SH 105, contains the bank (which opened in 2015) and two office buildings (which delivered in 2016). Spirit of Texas Bank CEO Dean Bass indicates that the development projects on the drawing board will help attract more merchants to downtown Conroe.
The expansion is currently in the planning phases, though the Spirit of Texas Foundation for the Arts will launch a fundraiser in January 2019 for the theater’s construction; anticipated opening is 2020. Bass also plans to sell eight acres for the hotel and conference center.
