Plans Revealed for 100-Acre MXU Project Near Commerce’s Tanger Outlet Center

Plans have been announced for a 100-acre mixed-use development near the Tanger Outlet Center in Commerce. The project, called Commerce Point, would be located directly behind the 371,000-square-foot outlet center on Steven B. Tanger Boulevard.

The proposed project would include multifamily housing, retail and additional commercial development. The development is slated for completion in December 2025. WA Engineering, an Athens-based engineering firm, is working on the project. The outlet center is currently operated by North Carolina-based Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc.

Directly south of the proposed development, Diligent Investment Group is planning a 105-acre commercial and industrial park adjacent to Commerce Point. The project is not affiliated with the Commerce Point project.
