Plans Move Forward on 6 X Guadalupe, Austin’s Second-Tallest Tower
Lincoln Property Co. and Kairoi Residential are ready to take the first steps to develop 6 X Guadalupe, Austin’s second-tallest tower. The partners obtained a permit to demolish the Extended Stay America building at 600 Guadalupe St./400 W. 6th St., on which the 66-story structure will be built.
The latest plan for the tower involves 349 apartments, 589,661 square feet of office space and 11,675 square feet of retail space. While demolition can commence, the developers haven’t yet obtained a permit for vertical construction.
When the partners first announced the vertical mixed-use development in June 2018, it was billed as potentially beating The Independent for the title of Austin’s tallest building. However, the project will likely end up measuring shy of The Independent’s 685 feet.
