Plans for Rehab Center Expanding

Everest Rehabilitation Hospital, a planned, all-inclusive inpatient facility, is still on schedule to begin construction in fall 2017 on East Loop 281 in Longview, TX. But the scope of the project expanded from an $11 million plan that will create 120 jobs, to one that will require close to 150 staff members by the time it’s open and operational.

The 36-bed hospital originally was slated to be 35,380 square feet. The current plan calls for 37,780 square feet and a $17-million investment, according to Marc Sparks with Timber Creek Capital, which is funding and developing the project. Sparks told the Longview News-Journal that construction would take between 11 and 13 months, weather permitting.

Sparks noted that the developers expanded the plans based on state approval. Once open, the facility will provide physical rehabilitation, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The hospital component will focus on brain injuries, and patients with strokes and concussions.
