Plano’s Collin Creek Redevelopment Taking Shape
The Collin Creek Mall was once the shining focal point of the Plano community. But it became obsolete and instead of trying to make something like it elsewhere, Centurion American has decided to knock the old one down, and rebuild a new one in its place.
The underground garage at the former site has been excavated and construction workers are now pouring concrete piers to accommodate the weight of the new and improved development.
The first phase of the $1 billion project will be completed in July of 2024. The extensive project will include 300,000 square feet of retail space, 300 senior residences, as well as space for offices, hotels and dining options. Three multifamily blocks are under development.
Centurion American’s Rob Romo says the Plano residents will be satisfied with the end result, “Collin Creek will be the model for urban mall reuse and development for other cities throughout the country.”
