Plano, Legacy West Developers, Preparing Roads for Onslaught

The city of Plano, TX has teamed with developers of Legacy West to prepare roads and infrastructure for the 255-acre, mixed-use development which opens in March. The development partnership includes KDC, The Karahan Cos. and Columbus Realty.

Legacy West is at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and SH 121, about 15 miles from downtown Dallas. It will consist of corporate office space, plenty of retail, 621 apartment units, and the 292-room Renaissance Hotel. Added to that, are the build-to-suit headquarters for Toyota North America and FedEx.

Given the influx of population to the area, some infrastructure concerns arose. As such, approved funds totaling $10 million have been dedicated to reconfigure the intersection of Headquarters Drive and Communications Parkway. Other construction has focused on continuing Communications Parkway from Headquarters Drive to SH 121, as well as other road improvements.
