Plan Would Bring Food Trucks to Downtown Longview

A tentative municipal plan is in the works that would bring food trucks more often to downtown Longview, TX. If approved, the plan would allow mobile food trucks to serve customers at Heritage Plaza during weekday hours, and along two downtown streets on nights and weekends. The Longview city council could approve the plan as early as Sept. 14, 2017.

Food trucks have been based around Longview Mall during its Food Truck Rally, but ordinances have prohibited mobile food in the city’s center. Main Street Advisory Board asked the city to expand its ordinances to allow downtown operation. The city’s traffic engineer also studied the plan to designate peak traffic and parking locations.
