Plan for Coastal NH Casino Clears Approvals Hurdle

The Hampton, NH Planning Board has signed off on Lupoli Companies’ proposal to build a new Hampton Beach Casino and Ballroom on the site of the existing property. At full buildout, the project will be double the size of the existing casino and is projected to cost between $400 million and $600 million.

Boston.com reported that the proposal encompasses a 3,500-seat ballroom event and music venue, a 208-key boutique hotel with an event hall, 99 residential condominium units, a spa, restaurants and retail space. Plans also include a 52,000-square-foot charitable gaming casino and a 732-space enclosed parking garage.

Lawrence, MA-based Lupoli, which is working with Cambridge architectural firm PCA, Lawrence-based engineering firm TEC and Boston-based landscape architect Halvorson, envisions a September 2026 start of demolition. Construction is expected to require about three years.

The original casino dates from 1899. Currently, it houses the Aces & Eights Casinos, one of New Hampshire’s 14 casinos.
