Pizzuti Launches Long-Delayed West Loop Mixed-Use
After The Pizzuti Cos. first proposed building a downtown Chicago mixed-use development nearly a decade ago, construction is finally underway. The Columbus, OH-based developer is building the Coppia, a 298-unit apartment complex located at 1101 W. Van Buren St. in the West Loop, the Chicago Business Journal reported.
The 19-story tower will consist of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units with penthouses on the top floor, a Pizzuti spokeswoman told the Business Journal.
Resort-style amenities will include coworking space, a dog park with a spa, sun deck with a swimming pool, an outdoor bar, cabanas, private grilling stations, storage rooms and a 2,200-square-foot game room.
The tower, which will also include ground-level retail, will be located across the street from a Target store and near the Chicago Transit Authority’s Blue Line train station. The development is slated for 2024 completion.
