Pinterest Hires Former Amazon Exec as First Female Board Member

After spending the past 13 years as senior vice president and general counsel for Amazon, Michelle Wilson has joined Pinterest. Wilson becomes the company’s first female member, as well as its first independent board member.

With no end in sight to the rise of ecommerce, Wilson’s background will assist in Pinterest’s efforts to grow in the sector. In April, the social networking/ “visual pinboard” site indicated that its growth was largely fueled from international visitors from Russia, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Brazil, France and Germany.

Wilson said, “Pinterest is a treasured brand that helps people around the world discover and do the things they love.”
