Pillar Capital Sells Academy Sports-Anchored Shops at Abilene Village

Pillar Capital Group of Arizona struck a deal with Texas-based Nooner Holdings Ltd. to sell the Shops at Abilene Village, a 145,000-square-foot, multi-tenant retail center anchored by Academy Sports + Outdoor. The buyer paid $20.1 million for the property at 3518-3542 S. Clack St. Brandon Duff and Tom Fritz with Stan Johnson Co. marketed the property and represented the seller in negotiations.

The Shops at Abilene Village delivered in spring 2018, and is 100% occupied, with tenants including Burlington, PetCo, Party City and Five Below.

“Since Academy was already proven in the submarket – with this being a relocation for them – combined with there being no other store locations within 90-150 miles for each of the other anchor tenants, as well as the property’s attractive new construction, we were able to generate strong buyer interest and multiple offers from a variety of different buyer profiles, especially private investors,” Duff said.
