Pike Place Market Looking for Concepts for Master Plan
Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority in Seattle is putting out a request for bids to ascertain who has the best idea for its future master plan, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal. It is a 50-year master plan that the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority aims to divide into 10-year increments. There will be a focus on how to best maintain the area’s historic buildings and make the attraction more attractive to people in the community.
The famous Seattle destination bills itself as being one of the oldest and biggest continuously operating public markets nationwide.
It features more than 220 independent stores and restaurants as well as farmers and small businesses. There are also affordable housing units on site that house more than 450 residents.
