Pickard Chilton’s Akamai Building in Cambridge Grabs AIA Connecticut Award

Architecture studio Pickard Chilton has had two of its projects — Akamai Technologies’ global headquarters building in Cambridge, MA and the design concept for Uber Sky Loft in Melbourne, Australia — recognized by AIA Connecticut’s 2022 Sustainable Architecture awards.

The 482,000-square-foot, 19-story Akamai building in the Kendall neighborhood received a Merit Award in the New Construction Category, while Uber Sky Loft was honored with a Commendation for Conceptual Design with a focus on Adaptive Reuse, Embodied Carbon & Mobility in the Conceptual or Research-Based Projects category.

AIA Connecticut’s Sustainable Architecture awards program recognizes the efforts of licensed CT architects who have developed and demonstrated ways to secure a more sustainable and environmentally thriving future. Equally important is the creation of durable, comfortable, and healthy spaces.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
