Phoenix Seeking Partner for Parking Garage-to-Hotel Conversion
The city of Phoenix is planning to issue a request for proposal to redevelop the Regency parking garage located on Adams and 2nd streets next to the Hyatt Regency. The Phoenix Business Journal reports, In its place, Phoenix leaders would like to see a full-service hotel with at least 400 rooms to support the Phoenix Convention Center next door.
Interested developers will need to demonstrate experience completing at least one vertical, mixed-use development of at least seven stories in the past five years.
Plans for another hotel in downtown Phoenix are underway nearby at the former parking lot adjacent to the One North Central Building. That hotel will total 180,000 square feet with 17 stories and 236 rooms, as well as 23,000 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant, rooftop pool and bar and fitness center and spa.
