Phoenix Okays 1,890 Apartment Units/More on Way
The Phoenix City Council had a busy day earlier this week, approving three separate apartment developments, consisting of 1,890 units. Two of the projects were downtown. Zoning changes were okayed on Central and Coolidge to allow 155 new units and a 250-unit project a few blocks away. RAS Developments is helming the first project and Trinsic Residential the second.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports the third project green-lighted the construction of 1,500 units to go in at Central and Glenrosa. Petree Properties plans to also include 25,000 square feet of retail at the site. The project is slated to take ten years to build out.
And if that were not enough, another 15-acre parcel owned by Pivotal Group at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Indian School Road is scheduled for a vote next week. About 1,450 apartment units are proposed on that site, along with a possible hotel and office space.
