Phoenix Fiesta Mall Razed, to Rise Again as Mixed-Use Project
In the ’80’s, Fiesta Mall was a going concern. But like many malls, more and more people started shopping online, and malls struggled. The demolition of the now-shuttered Fiesta Mall in Mesa is underway, to make way for a project that will combine multifamily housing with a number of commercial options.
Verde Investments is helming the project through the Mesa planning department. Verde has hired Nelsen Partners as the project designer. The architectural firm worked on the redevelopment of Paradise Valley Mall.
While specific plans have not been submitted to the city, Verde said the site could fit as many as 4,000 new apartments and homes, plus a variety of retail and commercial components.
