Phoenix Cracks Top-10 “Best State Capitals for Renters” List
Phoenix has ended up on Rent Café’s “Best U.S. State Capitals for Renters” 2020 list. The Valley of the Sun ended up in sixth place on the list, due to its “emerging tech hub, career opportunities and constant new residential development,” the Rent Café analysts noted. The apartments, themselves, also helped Phoenix solidify its position on the list.
To determine its list (which was topped by Lincoln, NE), Rent Café analyzed state capitals, comparing them according to average rent-to-medium renter-income ratio, crime rate and apartment quality. For Phoenix, specifically, a rent-to-income ratio of 24% helped put Arizona’s capital city squarely in the middle of the pack, Rent Café researchers indicated.
