P&G Progressing on $500M Coolidge Plant
Procter & Gamble Co. has committed to build a $500 million plant in Coolidge, Arizona. The company is moving forward with infrastructure work for its plant for its fabric care brands including Tide PODS, Downy Unstopables and Bounce dryer sheets. Coolidge is between Phoenix and Tucson.
P&G plans to build a 2 million-square-foot project with 500 jobs adjacent to Nikola Corp.’s electric vehicle factory. It has spent $53 million to acquire 430 acres for its project. Plans call for a 358,957-square-foot facility that will comprise 162,798 square feet of manufacturing space, 172,924 square feet of warehouse space and 12,607 square feet of office space.
P&G is focusing on setting up the water, power and rail infrastructure for the site and has yet to announce when construction will begin on the facility.
Besides easy access to Interstate 10 the company will be have access to the Union Pacific rail lines.
