Pflugerville City Council OKs 200-Acre Lisso Tract Rezoning Request

A 200-acre plot adjacent to Immanuel Road in suburban Austin’s Pflugerville is a go for rezoning from agriculture to mixed-use purposes, according to a vote by the city council. Known as the Lisso tract, the vote paves the way for development by William Lyon Homes.

The vote comes after months of public hearings, resident meetings and visits to the Plugerville City Council. Furthermore, the rezoning decision hasn’t been without controversy, with nearby residents concerned about the environmental impacts of the development to the area’s green land and flood plains. Traffic congestion was also raised as a concern.

William Lyon Homes, in presenting its plan before the council, indicated that the development is aligned with the city’s comprehensive and transportation plans, as well as standards for zoning requirements.
