Peter Houghton has joined Dekel Capital as managing director. Houghton comes to Dekel from Starcity, where he served as managing director of capital markets.

Houghton brings an investor network and more than $2.5 billion of transaction experience to his new role at Dekel, where his expertise in working with institutional investors will contribute to the continued growth of the firm, said Shlomi Ronen, Dekel Capital managing principal.

“Peter has an enviable track record raising programmatic equity from institutional sources and we will be leveraging his relationships to expand our equity raising capabilities within the commercial real estate sector,” Ronen said. “With Peter leading the effort, we are now better positioned to help clients source JV equity for one or a series of deals.”

Earlier in his career, Houghton held acquisition and investor facing roles with two prominent social impact funds, including an urban investment joint venture with Ervin “Magic” Johnson.
