Perkins&Will Debuts Santa Monica Supportive Housing Project

Architectural design firm Perkins&Will has unveiled 11010 smB, the Weingart Center’s new permanent supporting housing development in Santa Monica, CA. Designed as a housing solution for unsheltered seniors and veterans, the 51-unit project was configured using an offsite prefabrication manufacturer and modular construction methods with general contractor Swinerton.

“In response to our city’s ongoing housing crisis, we designed a project that could offer near-immediate support and shelter to unhoused seniors and veterans living in the streets. As architects and designers committed to positively impacting our community, Perkins&Will devised a modular solution that prioritizes the safety and comfort of those in need of a permanent home,” said Perkins&Will director of global diversity Gabrielle Bullock.

11010 smB features fully furnished, pet-friendly studios, 24/7 security and community amenities that include a rooftop deck, patios, gym and community room. Residents will also have access to medical and mental healthcare, substance use counseling and legal assistance.
