Pepper Square Redo Could Get Green Light
Built in the late 1970’s, Pepper Square shopping center in North Dallas has seen better days. Developer Henry S. Miller wants to transform the onetime bustling retail center into a mixed-use development including apartments and retail. The redevelopment could also include a 12-story high-rise. The Dallas City Council is expected to vote on a zoning change that would allow the project later this month.
The Dallas Business Journal reports, at a recent Planning and Zoning meeting, where the project was unanimously approved, some residents were concerned about increased traffic, but a developer-sponsored traffic study found the project would generate half as many trips than if the current center was 100% leased.
Henry S. Miller Company, founded in 1914, is one of the largest independent brokerage and property management firms in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. The company is based in Dallas with Regional offices in Houston and San Antonio.
