Peoria development to welcome first tenants in $100M Trailhead development

Peoria Retail Center Construction Underway

The Pederson Group has secured the first tenants in what is expected to be a $100 million development. Called the Trailhead, the tenants will include a $65 million shopping center anchored by a 63,000-square-foot Safeway with quality sit-down restaurants, a 350-unit multifamily complex and a new church.

The first tenants are two dining options: Tacos & Craft and the Sparrow. In total, The Trailhead will bring 140,000 square feet of new retail space encompassed by amenities such as a water feature, a community garden and open areas for eating, games and community events near the Sunrise Mountain Preserve.

The project team includes Phoenix-based developer Pederson Group Inc., general contractor Campbell Development and architect Butler Design Group.

The first phase of development is expected to open by the end of 2024 and includes the new Safeway grocery store and adjacent shops that are currently about 80% leased.
