  • JLL has arranged a $28 million loan for the refinancing of The Landing at Augusta Woods, a 148-unit seniors housing community in Spring. The community comprises a 120-unit apartment-style complex that provides independent living, assisted living and memory care services, as well as 28 to-be-built independent living, duplex-style cottage units.
  • Alpine Start Development is building the 261-unit Range West apartments on 11 acres north of Fort Worth. Construction will finish in mid-2025. The complex will have a resort-style pool, fitness center, pickleball court, and dog park. A portion of the units will be set aside as income-restricted rentals.
  • A 566,000-sf industrial business park in Southlake will break ground next year. Located off Ira Woods Ave., the $38 million business park will have four buildings. The first begins construction in March. The project will open in late 2024. Constellation Real Estate Partners is the developer. 
  • E Contractors is preparing for strategic growth by hiring Lorenzo Martinez as new Vice President. With a career spanning 40 years in the construction industry, Martinez brings a wealth of experience and expertise to E Contractors, including work on health care projects at Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, Kelsey-Seybold, UT Health, as well as K-12, colleges, and universities.
  • Desi Brothers Farmers Market, a U.S.-based grocery store that focuses on flavors and foods found in the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East, has leased a 47,814-square-foot anchor building at Round Rock Crossing, a regional-draw shopping center located at the southeast corner of SH-45 and IH-35, for its fourth Austin-area location.
  • The DFW area leads the nation in new hotels, with 21,840 rooms under construction, according to Lodging Econometrics. In the third quarter, 189 hotels were being built, up from last year’s 176. Atlanta had the second-highest number at 140. Nashville was third with 122. In the next year, 80 hotels with 9,021 total rooms will begin construction in North Texas.
  • Dallas-based MYCON General Contractors, Inc. (MYCON) has named Chief Financial Officer Malynda Dickinson, CPA, CCIFP, as partner. With 18 years of financial and executive leadership experience, Dickinson is responsible for the firm’s financial management and accounting functions. She also oversees the company’s surety and insurance programs and guides its risk management program.
