Pembroke Inks 23K-SF Office Lease with Wilderness Society in D.C.

Pembroke has signed The Wilderness Society to a 23,000-square-foot office lease at 1801 Pennsylvania Ave. NW in Washington D.C.

The 197,000-square-foot office building was previously anchored by law firm WilmerHale, which vacated in 2018. The Wilderness Society, a conservation organization, plans to move its headquarters to the property in June from 1615 M St. NW.

Pembroke acquired the office property in 2006 for $149 million and launched a major renovation following the law firm’s departure. Work included the creation of a double-height entrance and the reconfiguration of the lobby to add a coffee bar and social lounge. Pembroke also added a 5,000-square-foot fitness center with yoga studios, nap pods and locker rooms.
