Pebblebrook Introduces the “Unofficial Z Collection” in Portland

Pebblebrook Hotel Trust completed the transformation of The Hotel Zags Portland, previously Hotel Modera in downtown Portland. The 174-room upper-upscale hotel at 515 SW Clay St. underwent a full renovation, transformation and rebranding.

Pebblebrook’s Jon E. Bortz says, “The active nature and distinctive culture of Portland make this hotel the perfect addition to our already unique experiential portfolio of ‘Z’ named hotels.”

The property mixes nature, art and play unique to Portland. That includes an urban oasis featuring a courtyard with lush local greenery, including living walls, an artistic and unique “globed” fireplace and an environmentally-friendly green roof. The hotel also has a Gear Shed, equipped with scooters, skateboards and bicycles, Go-Pros, cameras and binoculars, backpacks and fishing rods.

The Hotel Zags Portland is the sixth ‘Z’ Hotel in the “Unofficial Z Collection,” the Bethesda, MD-based company’s individually curated portfolio of urban lifestyle hotels, and the first ‘Z’ Hotel located outside of San Francisco.

He has earned an outstanding reputation with organization leaders as a trusted advisor, strategic program implementer, consensus builder and exceptional collaborator.
