Pebblebrook Hotel Trust to Sell Sofitel Washington DC Hotel
Bethesda-based Pebblebrook Hotel Trust is under contract to sell the 237-room Sofitel Washington DC hotel as well as the 422-room Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta in Atlanta. The sales price is $331 million.
The high-end Sofitel property is located at 806 15th St. NW, one block from the White House on Lafayette Square. It opened in 2002 after the 1930s-era building was renovated and converted into a hotel. The Intercontinental Buckhead is located 10 miles north of downtown Atlanta.
After the sale of both properties to the undisclosed buyer, Pebblebrook will own four other hotels in Washington D.C.: the Mason & Rook near Logan Circle, the George in Union Station, the Hotel Monaco in Chinatown and the Donovan.
