PCCP Provides Portman Nearly $96M for Charlotte Office Development

PCCP, LLC provided a $95.6 million senior construction loan to finance the speculative development of 2151 Hawkins, a fully entitled, 16-story trophy office tower in Charlotte, NC. The South End neighborhood property is being developed by a JV between Atlanta-based Portman Holdings, and Washington, D.C.-based National Real Estate Advisors, LLC.

The Class AA, LEED-certified, Gensler-designed office tower features efficient floor plates and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The tower, slated to deliver next year, will also include retail space anchored by Sycamore Brewing, a ground-level food hall concept, and a six-story parking structure. The property will also feature multiple roof terraces, including a sky lobby, with views of the Uptown skyline and historic Dilworth neighborhood, and direct access to the LYNX Light Rail Blue Line.

PCCP’s Brian Haber says, “PCCP believes this is an attractive opportunity to provide financing on a well-located, transit-oriented trophy office tower in Charlotte’s fastest-growing submarket.”
