Partnership Supports INROADS College Links for STEM and Leadership Skills
Future leaders of color have faced unparalleled obstacles, from COVID-19 to school interruption and economic disparities. Despite these barriers, INROADS College Links, a program developed to expose high school youth to STEM, career and leadership skills, is reporting enthusiasm among younger cohorts for becoming the problem-solvers of tomorrow.
As calls get louder to close the opportunity gap for communities of color, three companies are taking action to address these disparities. ConocoPhillips, BBVA USA (now a part of PNC) and Dollar General are each supporting the growth of INROADS through individual partnerships.
“BBVA, ConocoPhillips and Dollar General have stepped up to provide students in Birmingham, AL, Houston and Nashville with access to our program designed to meet their desires for leadership development,” said Forest T. Harper Jr., president and CEO, INROADS Inc.
Market expansion in Nashville is being led by Dollar General. Expansion to Birmingham is being led by BBVA USA. In Houston, ConocoPhillips aims to give early preparation to the next generation of STEM professionals and engineers.
