Partnership Proposing $750M Energy Park Complex

Mexiship Ocean International LLC (located in Mexico and Dallas) and San Antonio-based Refinery Equipment Operating Co. LLC joined forces to propose a $750 million energy park complex approximately 140 miles southwest of San Antonio, near Eagle Pass, TX, in Maverick County. The planned complex would include a 20,000-barrel-per-day refinery, storage terminals and cross-border pipelines for refined products, natural gas and fiber-optic cable.

The micro refinery’s purpose would be to process condensate and light sweet crude from the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin, convert the product into gasoline and other refined product, then export it to Mexico.

Eagle Pass is the site of two international bridges, an international rail line and two cross-border natural gas pipelines. Mexiship’s long-term plans include building a similar energy complex in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, across the border, which would provide transportation fuels to Mexican natural gas power plants in Mexico.
