Paragon Opens First Amazon Fresh Grocery Store

Paragon Commercial Group, LLC completed the redevelopment of a former Toys “R” Us anchored property in Los Angeles into the first Amazon Fresh Grocery store. The 35,000-square-foot store at 6245 Topanga Canyon Blvd. is within Woodland Hills’ Warner Center business district.

Paragon’s Erwin Bucy says, “The redevelopment of this site over the last seven years is a great example of sticking to a business plan. This area of the San Fernando Valley has been in need of a convenient grocery anchored center for its growing residential community and we are proud to have worked with the City of Los Angeles and Amazon to successfully deliver what the community needed.”

Paragon acquired the property in 2013 and updated the center and tenant mix to keep pace with rapid growth, as well as retail shopping experience shifts. Originally built in 1970, a portion of the 6.26-acre property was redeveloped into multifamily, and the grocery-anchored retail portion now includes community serving uses and daily needs shopping options.
