Pangea Sponsors Coat Drive for Children in Public Housing

For the fourth year,  Pangea Properties sponsored a program of the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) that provides children in CHA public housing with free winter coats. Over four days in October, more than 7,500 children’s coats were distributed through the program at Credit Union 1 Arena, formerly known as the UIC Pavilion, on the city’s Near West Side.

“We are committed to making a positive difference in Chicago and to supporting residents in all communities in which we work,” said Pangea CEO Peter Martay. “This program is one way we do that by helping to keep children warm throughout Chicago’s long winter season.”

Pangea contributed $10,000 to this year’s Operation Warm Chicago winter coat program, also sponsored by Wells Fargo, PepsiCo, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Comcast, ComEd and Nan McKay & Associates. COVID-19 restrictions prevented Pangea employees from helping distribute the coats as they’ve done in past years.
