Panama Papers Reveal Americans Tied to Fraud

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and other media partners have  identified companies tied to at least 36 Americans accused of serious financial misconduct and fraud from the Panama Papers.

Among those on the list was Leonard Gotshalk, a former Atlanta Falcons football player who has been a high-profile businessman in Oregon. Also from Oregon, was Andrew Widerhorn, a real estate executive who was part of one of the state’s largest corporate scandals. Martin Frankel was also listed. Frankel, a financier from Connecticut, pled guilty to 20 counts of wire fraud in 2002.

The Panama Papers consists of a series of leaked documents exposing business practices of Mossack Fonesca. Fonesca is known as one of the world’s largest marketers of offshore secrecy.
