Pair of Wal-Mart Supercenters Planned on I-15 Corridor
Legal challenges to a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Lake Elsinore, CA have been dismissed, allowing construction to move forward. Another site in Wildomar, CA was also approved last year, though a potential lawsuit appeal still stands in its way.
The stores are planned along the 1-15 corridor at the 74 and Cambern Ave. in Lake Elsinore, and at Bundy Canyon Rd. and Monte Vista Dr. in Wildomar.
Lake Elsinore officials are anxious for Wal-Mart to ask for building permits for its proposed 154,500-square-foot Supercenter, which includes three pads for smaller retail businesses, including restaurants. Typically, after permits are issued, the stores take about a year to build.
In Wildomar, the City Council approved a 185,700-square-foot Supercenter and 7,800-square-foot retail building. A lawsuit filed by Creed-21 was dismissed, though Creed-21 still can appeal.
