Pair of Riverside Towers Approved in Rochester, MN
Bloom International Realty plans to develop a pair of residential towers totaling one million square feet along the Zumbro River in Rochester, MN. The $180-million Bloom Riverfront Towers are proposed for a 22-story tower with 215 senior living units, and a 26-story tower with 181 hotel rooms and 132 condos.
The Rochester City Council unanimously approved the project, and the developer now must acquire the property from the city, which owns the west bank site between Second and Fourth streets south. Pittsburgh-based AE7 is planning the project on behalf of the United Arab Emirates-based developer.
The development includes 30,000 square feet of contemporary restaurants and nightlife, as well as 7,000 square feet of retail. The towers would be connected via a skyway and sit on top of a podium. A boardwalk would create a pedestrian-friendly environment and activate the river’s edge.
