PacSun Sales Down, Posts Loss
Anaheim-based apparel retailer Pacific Sunwear of California saw its first-quarter sales drop and continued to post a net income loss. But the good news is that the loss of $3.5 million was lower than the $10.4 million during the same year-ago period.
The retailer, which is mainly found in enclosed malls, saw a two percent same-store-sales drop during the quarter. Total revenue was at $166.5 million, down from the $171.1 million it brought in over 2014’s Q1.
PacSun also closed 13 stores year over year, brining its total store count to 605 units. Company executives expect same-store sales to be from flat to a four-percent decline year over year.
