
Oxford & Fortress Snag Senior Housing Portfolio in Sequim
Oxford Capital Group, LLC in a joint venture with Fortress Investment Group, LLC, has acquired the Sherwood Portfolio, a trio of senior housing properties totaling 256 units in Sequim, WA. The seller was a private independent family operator. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“We are excited to continue to expand our senior housing silo as we assemble a portfolio of properties throughout the U.S. and Canada,” said Oxford CEO John Rutledge.
“While most institutional investors focus on high-end development in urban centers, our strategy is to buy overlooked mid-market properties which are dependable, comfortable and affordable,” added Oxford Living President Lawrence Cummings.
Located about 65 miles northwest of Seattle, Sequim is a regional retirement mecca known for its favorable climate and scenic vistas. The Oxford and Fortress venture will invest over $8 million in enhancing the properties, with plans for a significant expansion of the portfolio’s assisted living and memory care offerings.
