“Outdoor-Living” Rental Units Going Up in Austin

Yes, there will be 302 apartment units on 8 acres delivered by United Properties in East Austin. But at the heart of Shelby Ranch is a 1-acre courtyard that includes an open-air performance stage, pool and rustic-modern clubhouse. There will be a chicken coop for collecting eggs, honey-producing beehives, lemon and lime trees, and raised garden beds for residents to grow their own vegetables and herbs.

“Shelby Ranch celebrates outdoor living,” said United Properties Brenda Studt. “The project is designed to fit with the laid-back and creative ethos of the neighborhood.”

Indoors, apartments will have high ceilings, large windows and private balconies. Out-of-room amenities include a workshop for craft and hobby projects, a fitness center with a separate room for yoga and indoor cycling, an indoor/outdoor resident lounge with a bar, kitchen and fireplace, and a large dog park and pet spa.

Construction on the project is anticipated to be complete by late 2024.
