IMC has expanded its office lease at EQ Office's Willis Tower to 160,000 square feet

Otis Gets Tall Order with Willis Tower Elevator Upgrades

Fulfilling what’s literally a tall order, an Otis team will be onsite at the Willis Tower beginning next month to oversee on-time completion of the elevator portion of Equity Office’s $500-million capital improvement program at the 110-story office tower. Otis and Equity Office have finalized a contract to upgrade the downtown landmark’s elevator cabs to Otis SkyRise units, using the CompassPlus destination management system.

“More than 15,000 tenants and guests use our elevators each day, and they deserve the absolute best in transportation within the building, from updated technology to sleek design,” said Equity Office SVP David Moore. Otis Americas President Tom Vining said the upgrade would “transform the passenger experience for the millions of people who pass through the building every year.”

The modernization project is intended to provide more efficient elevator service, reducing peak-hour travel time by up to 30%, and cutting energy costs by an estimated 35%.
