Orange County Government Can’t Keep Track of CRE?

The Orange County government is supposedly under fire for not keep track of the $1.7 billion of real estate it owns and leases. The Orange County Grand Jury is wondering what officials did with the tracking the assets in a database.

It says there are about 2,300 properties managed and leased by the county that aren’t consistently tracked. The grand jury wants these assets accounted for before there are further real estate investments.

The jury is reportedly basing its findings on news stories that say the real estate is not tracked.
