Opus Group Elevates Matt Rauenhorst to Lead Development 

The Opus Group has promoted Matt Rauenhorst to president and CEO of Opus Development Company, L.L.C. His responsibilities include business development, directional oversight and leadership of the development teams nationwide as well as Opus’ capital markets group. 

With nearly 20 years’ experience in real estate development, Rauenhorst has been a key member of the Opus team since 2008, earning multiple promotions with increasing responsibility. In 2019, he was promoted to executive vice president and general manager, taking on broad accountability for overall operations in the upper Midwest markets, including Minneapolis, Chicago, Des Moines and Indianapolis.  

Rauenhorst has developed industrial, multifamily, student living, senior living and office projects across these markets, helping create jobs, fuel economic growth and improve communities. He is also integrally involved with the Opus Foundation, as its board chair, and invested in Opus diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 16-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism. In this capacity, he oversees daily operations while also reporting on both local/regional markets and national trends, covering individual transactions across all property types, as well as delving into broader subject matter. His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications. Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
