Ontario-HQ’d Cardenas Markets Targets Millenials

Cardenas Markets continues to expand in the Inland Empire, with two new stores planned this year, including one in Riverside slated to open in spring. The Hispanic supermarket chain currently operates 32 stores in Southern California and Las Vegas, employing about 3,000 people.

Growth for the retailer, which features craft beer and organic food, is expected to come from millennials, along with non-Hispanic ethnic groups.

“The millenial is asking for more organic, more natural, more diverse and more up-to-date products, and we’re moving right alongside to get to that level to provide those products they’re requesting,” said Cardenas Markets’ spokesman Marco Robles.
